Printre cei scandalizaţi de scandalul Mang (faza pe acuzaţii de plagiat) este şi un bun prieten, care a scormonit pe net (aflat la îndemîna oricui) pînă ce a mai găsit că şi lucrarea "TWO DIFFERENT ARCHITECTURES FOR THE HARDWARE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RIJNDAEL ALGORITHM", "Erica Mang, University of Oradea, Romania, Department of Computers Science, 3-5 Armatei Romane St., 3700 Oradea, E-mail: emang@uoradea.ro" (am luat cu Copy/Paste din capul .pdf-ului) ar fi beneficiat de o muză din Grecia: "N. Sklavos, O. Koufopavlou – Architectures and VLSI Implementations of the AES-Proposal Rijndael," IEEE Transactions on Computers, vol. 51, no. 12, pp. 1454-1459, Dec. 2002"…
Dar prietenul nu s-a oprit aici: avînd în minte că lucrarea "Cryptanalise aspects on the block ciphers of R5 and RC6", semnată de soţii Ioan şi Erica Mang, ar fi fost plagiată după "Correlation Attack to the Block Cipher RC5 and the Simplified Variants of RC6" – scrisă (cu cîţiva ani înainte, desigur!) de Takeshi Shimoyama, Kiyofumi Takeuchi şi Juri Hayakawa, a trimis un mail japonezului Takeshi, la care a ataşat corpul delict (Foto 1). Răspunsul (Foto 2) a venit după nici o zi:

I'm Takeshi Shimoyama who is one of the authors of the paper "Correlation Attack to the Block Cipher RC5 and the Simplified Variants of RC6", which was submitted to 3rd AES conference. (http://csrc.nist.gov/archive/aes/round2/conf3/aes3papers.html)
I read the attached paper, then I'm convinced that the paper is plagirised version of our paper. Though the title is not same as my paper, all of the algorithms, data and the sentences are quite same as our paper.
I feel very sad such an illegal paper was submitted and was published.

Pentru nevorbitorii de engleză, traducerea (în rezumat) sună cam aşa: "Am citit documentele ataşate, am convingerea că reprezintă varianta plagiată a lucrării noastre etc. Imi pare rău că o asemenea lucrare ilegală a fost publicată etc. Cele mai bune urări, sănătate la neamuri şi apă la păpuşoi!".
De unde trebuie să înţelegem că şi cercetătorii japonezi se pretează la manevrele politice româneşti. Mai bine şi-ar vedea de plagiatele lor, la o scară mult mai mare: de exemplu, pînă şi numele celebrelor benzi desenate japoneze e copiat de la ministrul Educaţiei din România: dacă nu ştiaţi, se numesc Manga!
